Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science
Cloud Data Warehouse migration project experience
Data Warehousing design experience
Experience of writing ETL Packages
Experience with Oracle DB and PL/SQL is a plus
Experience of working within a large database development project team
Strong Capital Markets experience and deep understanding of front to back processes
Experience developing data solutions using MS Azure Data services
Capable of speaking articulately to a breadth of topics such as data store technologies, ETL, data warehousing, data virtualization, data modeling and data lakes
Recent experience with Azure tools and services (SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Cosmos DB, and Azure Machine Learning) is preferred, but experience with equivalent services from other Cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) will also be considered.
Working knowledge of Snowflake is a plus
We are looking for an enthusiastic Cloud Data Warehouse Consultant to join our Financial Services team working at one of our multinational banking clients with the data management, technology, and analytics teams. The Cloud Data Warehouse Architect / Developer designs and implements agile, scalable, and cost-efficient solution on Cloud data services. As a Consultant, you will work on-site at our client as part of a cohesive consulting team and have interactions with senior stakeholders in addition to opportunities to own deliverables.
The resource will support the migration of an Enterprise Data Warehouse to an Azure Cloud platform and will help design and implement a proof of concept as well as the strategic solution. The candidate will work closely with various development teams and Business units to further enhance the data warehouse and reporting elements of the platform. A strong understanding of data warehousing design principles is essential. The consultant will trouble shoot issues during the daily process of loading the files and transforming them to the new Azure Data Warehouse.
Propose architectures that consider cost/spend and develop recommendations and plans to right-size solutions
Define solutions paying particular attention to ensuring technical requirements have been factored in
Provide subject matter expertise on a range of Cloud service implementation, migration, delivery, and performance management activities
Develop efficient ETL routines
Work with wider Technology teams to ensure development and testing is coordinated and best practices are followed
Help define test cases and work closely with users assisting them with testing bug fixes or new features and functions
Ensure due diligence has been carried out on all software changes, paying particular attention to detail on unit, component, and systems integration testing
Work with BAU teams to ensure project changes are released to live in a coordinated manner
Design and develop warehouse enhancements
Load and validate dimensions and measures stored procedures
Perform all application unit and system testing
Support the loading and integrity of the data warehouse
Create data dictionary’s and proper documentation on the data warehouse
Assist with creation of a robust, sustainable, and scalable architecture that supports requirements and provides for expansion
Work with end users, business analysts, technical architects, and developers to define the data requirements and data structure for BI and analytics solutions
Collaborate with Engineers, Business Analysts, Data Modelers, SMEs, and Data Governance to build a sustainable warehouse in the Cloud
Yearly Gross Salary: $120k – $180k
